Bishop Dr. Glenford G. Duffus

Dr. Glenford Duffus, Ph.D., has dedicated over 45 years to education, serving in various roles such as teacher, vice principal, principal, and superintendent of education across different jurisdictions. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing teacher education, staff development, equity, and inclusion within boards of education and faculties of education. He has a strong track record of turning around underperforming schools and achieving significant student academic success.

Glenford holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Educational Administration from the University of the West Indies, a Bachelor of Education from York University, a Master of Theological Studies degree from Tyndale, and a Ph.D. from York University in Toronto. His research and teaching interests include leadership, diversity, inclusivity, school community partnerships, and professional learning communities (PLCs).

As the visionary behind Ebenezer Holiness Church of God in Toronto and serving as the presiding Bishop for branches in Jamaica, Haiti, and the USA, Dr. Duffus remains actively engaged as a teacher, preacher, and international conference speaker. He has conducted numerous seminars, workshops, and staff development programs globally.

Recognized for his contributions to education, Dr. Duffus has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Tyndale University and the Governor General’s Achievement Award for his service to education. He continues to advocate for continuous learning and staff development as essential tools for improving academic achievement for all learners.

Married to Janette for over thirty years, Bishop Glenford and Janette are proud parents to four children: Demane, Kimarie, Ian, and Melissa.
